Plan the space. Then the shortlist.

A promising product can still be the wrong fit for the room. Start with a page of measurements and questions rather than a photo alone.

Describe how the space is used

Write down what happens in the room on an ordinary day, what needs to stay, and what you want to change. Separate the must-haves from finishes you can decide later.

Keep two measurement lists

Record the available width, depth and height at the intended location. Separately note the route in: door openings, corridors, turns, stairs and other obstructions. Compare both lists with documented packaged and assembled dimensions for the exact model; they are not necessarily the same.

Build a question sheet

• Which exact model and configuration am I comparing?

• What components are included, and what needs separate confirmation?

• Are the published dimensions packaged, assembled or both?

• Which requirements should a qualified professional review?

This is a planning checklist, not installation, lifting or safety instructions. Product-specific requirements belong in current manufacturer documentation and a qualified professional’s assessment.

Keep the evidence with the choice

Save the model identifier and the document you used. A lifestyle scene can suggest a direction, but it does not establish that a product fits or that pictured accessories are included.

A better shortlist starts with better questions.
